When the term "cyberspace" was mentioned, I always lost what it really mean. I start using computer since 8 years old, when Internet is still a research tool and not many outside universities have access to it.

To me, computers do "things" for me, might that be helping me write my homework, or provide entertainment. A program runs on it is just a bunch of 0s and 1s that control how it behaves. The behaviour draw information from data and present some result.

The Nokia 5190 is my first cell phone. It is the classic "candy bar" phone, size like a big bar of chocolate. Its RF is pretty good, even may not be the best according to others who "tested" it. The phone has no T9 input, so it's kind of slow writing SMS.

So, my friend Dixon is on gmail and get me a gmail account.

I don't really have a use for it besides the "I got it, too!" thing.

The service is quite fast. ie mail received as soon as I sent it from home when tested.

The interface is the usual, but I like the idea of filing emails with label instead of mailbox. This allow a email to belong in more than one category.

I'm looking forward to see how its ability to deal with spams, as that the major complain I have on my yahoo account.

Finally, some of the functions I use, ie sending SMS, seem to be missing.

As least I got 1GB of space on line, there is a cool GmailFS to use it as a remote storage.
