The weather is quite cold in the morning at -13, but I feel it must be around -20 after wind chill since my toe is freezing in the boots. My boots has poor insulation and my toe usually freeze under -15 or so. Then the weather warm up over lunch.
The section focus on: 1) pressure control 2) speiss 3) down un-weight turn.
Focus:
1) Pressure control
- flexion should be gradual to allow better power distribution throughout the turn
- pressure should be distribute equally throughout the length of the board
- extension should be brief and fast as compared to flexion (2x) and to minimize time on full extension, else we risk skid out during the turn
- counting 1 up, 1-2-3 down
2) Speiss
- weight on front foot
- left and swipe back of the board from side to side in order to turn
- front hand lead down hill, while back hand swing with the back of the board
- the upper body moment can later incorporate into turn with flex and extension, which make the turn more swift
3) Down un-weight turn
- this turn allow edge full contact and pressure on snow during the turn
- allow better speed control even on black terrain
- body starts from flex position, imagine a ceiling above the head
- extend to the in order to turn, the board is bring back by flexion
- upper body should be stay on the flex height throughout the turn
- upper body rotation and antipication still apply
