A month ago in the late summer, I took my GDNT co-workers to the Gatineau park for a visit. One of the main attractions there is the Mackenzie King Estate.

A cottage of Canada's 10th prime minister, the Mackenzie King Estate turns into a garden today and open to the public. The estate is incomplete as King passed away after retired, before he finish building his dream resident. This only added to the fun when visiting the place so we can let our imagination run wild to how the place would be like if finished.

During the summer months, NCC has guided tours of the garden at weekends run by volunteers.

I was here many years ago, but this time around I enjoy the visit much more because of the guided tour offer many insights surrounding the historical place.

It's a highly recommended touring destination in Canada's capital region.
