Since my ISP connection in Ottawa failed, I was unable to access my Gregarius RSS aggregator. Luckily, I have Google reader setup to play around when it first came out. Now it comes in handy. Mostly of my RSS feeds are imported there so I can catch up with news.

After I used it for a while, what I found is this reader actually response quite quickly. This seem to contribute by the help of AJAX, it fetches entries in the background to keep enough posts in the pipe while only show a few posts at a time. It is faster than Gregarius (and most other aggregators), which loads hundreds of posts at a time before user can read. It's a very good (and simple) GUI which optimize for a web application environment. I also like the short-cut key a lot.

Of course, this is a beta software so there are things to improve; Only a simple reader is presented, many advanced features such as list by blog/category is missing.

[update] actually, category is done via tag, and read by blog can be done from the subscription list

I guess I will use it for now...
