Other stuffs might work on:
- mogul

10/10: Belle de Jour
Everyone blog, even callgirl
10/10: Podcasting
So, this is the latest from the worldwide 2-way web.
Podcasting basically uses RSS to publish multimedia bits. The RSS feed contains a "enclosure" that point to a audio track, one can download it later (ie overnight) for listening. Currently it is for audio blogging, your own radio/talk show kind of thing. The original idea is for iPod and other mp3 players, but I'm sure it will be much more in the future.
iPodder is the application that people put together to do podcasting.

10/06: Portland Street
Watching a news magazine program on Fairchild TV the other night, it's about Portland street. Even through I used to live around the neighorhood, but never realized it's so red, as in "red light" district.
10/01: Foggy Day
It's foggy today.
The weather is so wierd this year. The whole summer only has 3 days I can remember to be called hot. Now we got fog in the fall. Ottawa is not a fog city and certainly I don't remember seeing that much during the morning, let along in fall.
What else? Maybe snow by Nov? That will be good so I can start snowboarding.

I wish I read this Snowboard FAQ when I started.
09/22: Google, the monster
Google begins as a web search company, started by 2 researcher in Stanford with seed money from VC.
It grows and evolve into a big monster today; search (of course), email, newsgroup, news, translation tool, what not you got, and of course - IPOed.
Rumor has it going to go into browser too, it won't be long before it's into the like of Yahoo and Microsoft. It's cool to see Google is powered by the most advanced technologies, from Linux on cheap PC to many in-house software.
From the look at the bright people it employs, it must be a cool company to work for, if you have the calibre.

When I was a kid, there used to be a small shack by the side walk in my neighorhood that sell toys and snacks. Actually, it's more like a stand than a shack, it was made of woodboard and carton boxes, with a sheet on top of it.
It was ran by a old guy with short silverly white/grey hair. He carts out all his stuffs from home each morning and setup shop there. The stand is near Canton road, and there's a lot metal shops there. The area smells like rust and burn metals.
He sell snacks like candy, junk food and alike, as well as a lot of toys. Among the toys are small plastic model kit; I still remembered I bought the first Gundom 1:144 kit there. It was such an excitment to drop by and check out the new arrivals each day after school. I got hook for that, even I don't have a lot of money to buy. And Yes, I was window shopping.
I don't know if the stand still there anymore, but likely not since the area is re-built and roads in the surrounding are reshape into major road.
