11/16: First Snow
Finally! I've been waiting for this scene for months. hehehe.
It's still come with a lot of rain, but seeing it means I'm ready for another winter of snowboarding.

I was watching TV on Chinese cable a long while back on a finance show, it was talking about clothing manufacturing and the elimination of China textile product quota after it joins the WTO. What caught me is they talked about how a company manage their inventory.

I've been to 荔枝莊, 嶂上, 赤徑, 海下, 大浪灣/鹹田灣/西灣, 蚺蛇尖, 大浪咀, 大帽山 when I was in Hong Kong. But there are so many nice places to go.
When I'm going to have a chance to see them again?

So, MSN and Yahoo decided to provide inter-op for their users. It's a good news for IM users around the world.
I've been using gaim on my Linux box, which support many IM systems. I login to MSN, Yahoo and ICQ, and it consolidates my 3 IM accounts under the same client. Even through it's not the best client around, but it gets the job done as it's a good way to go without have to run 3 client s/w at the same time.
With this inter-op agreement, I should be able to use my MSN to IM to my Yahoo friend and colleague. Maybe what I can do is to run only MSN at home and has all my Yahoo friends IM me via my MSN account when I am at home. Then when I am at work I will be using Yahoo (MSN is blocked at work, anyway).... don't know if it is better this way??
On the other hand, I'm interested to see whether they are going to provide function to link a MSN account to a corresponding Yahoo one. This will be very useful in the sense that I do not have to let all Yahoo friends know my MSN account in order for them to IM me. It will be cumbersome to have to do it manually.
Now, let's add Jabber support so I can link to Google Talk as well.

I talked to many friends in Hong Kong when I was there last X'mas, they all echo exactly the same concerns on raising kids in Hong Kong. They just don't think they have time to provide the right environment for kids. A friend's sister actually just moved back to Vancouver for the same reason.
If my memory served, only 1 out of 10+ friends returned from Canada have kids after they married. My other friends have somewhat higher number, but still rate much lower with my friends here in Ottawa. Most my friends here that married over 2 years have kids and actually all of them have 2.
I think it is true that Canada in general has better environment for rasing kids, most people have more time for family and such. But this does not mean it is easier to raise kid here, through.
